If a driver has a part of a weekly rest to take, then the rests exceeding 24 hours (both shortened and regular) are replaced with a shortened rest and a compensation, while meeting the rule that within 2 weeks a driver has to have at least one shortened rest and one regular rest. If such compensation-related shortened rest is not given back afterwards, the program will determine which shortening is less severe. At the last stage the program will choose the variant that generates lesser penalty.
| If there’s a case that the above mentioned daily rests (of at least 9h) occur in such a day, the program will treat them as one split regular daily rest (min. 3h + min. 9h).
See the detailed description in section: "Interpretation of particular cases -> Day with two daily rests". |
The case of a day, during which two regular daily rests occur within 24 hours, is the exception to the interpretation.
